Singapore Tour

August 15 2021

A fabulous morning for walking around Joo Chiat and Tiong Bahru for the St. Patrick’s Singapore Tours. Great to catch up with everyone and also meet new Irish friends in Singapore. Excellent tour guides by Jane's Singapore Tours - what a rich and colourful history in both of these districts.

Don't Rain on our Parade

Virtual St.Patrick's Day Parade March 17 2021

At the end of February we put out a call to the Irish Community in Singapore to create a St. Patricks Day parade amongst the organisations, societies and families here. We have had a really positive response and the result lies below. With over 150 Participants reflecting the Official, Cultural, Sporting and Familial spheres of the Irish in Singapore we can think of no better way to wish everyone here, home and abroad - Là Fheile Padraig 2021.

In January 2021, 130 of us walked the more than 17,000km from Merlion Park in Singapore to Heuston Station Dublin. This event is a group event where every step counts towards the groups aim of walking home together. Enabling the Irish Community to come together with a common goal.

Santa 1.jpg

Our youngest members had an amazing time with their one to one family time with Santa on zoom. There was plenty of giggling and singing with and in some cases interrogation of Santa. The children were all amazed how much Santa knew about him and promised to keep on the best behaviour to stay on the nice list... at least until Christmas.

Clash of the Celts 2

Thursday 26th November 2020

St. Patrick's Society Singapore teamed up with Singapore St. Andrew's Society and St. David's Society Singapore to bring you Clash of the Celts 2 - Whiskey Tasting. The Craic and the banter at our inaugural Clash of the Celts event was so great  we have decided to take it up a notch. In this whiskey tasting we will were introduced to some malts from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, we were given tidbits about the distilleries, and an interactive session on the taste and nose of each of the drams. This session was a huge hit for both whiskey fans and new commers to whiskey alike.

Each Tasting set contained 5 individually packaged 30ml Drams

Shopping Bazaar Sentosa Fair About Town @ WTP

3 Kung Chong Rd, Singapore 159141

3 - 5th November 2020

It's that time of year again where we organise our annual Christmas Charity Bazaar at the Ambassador's Residence. Unfortunately this year, with Covid-19 restrictions in place, we are unable to host the event as we normally would.

Your Committee has worked hard to offer our valued members an alternative Bazaar experience, and we have received amazing support from the "Sentosa Fair About Town" at WTP who have kindly offered our members, and their friends, priority slots at their shopping fair between November 3rd to 5th. The shopping fair is dedicating three days towards an Irish theme and will include many of our usual vendors who you are used to seeing at our Christmas Charity Bazaar.

To maintain the current social distancing measures, St. Patrick’s Society members and friends are invited to join in groups of up to 5 people.

What you need to do to skip the queue:

Please complete the attached Shopping Registration Form with your estimated shopping time and you will be given priority access during that period. Don't worry if you can't make your chosen slot; The venue will be following Covid-19 guidelines on Safe Entry, and you can attend at any time but priority access may not be given.

Opening hours are:

11am – 7pm Tuesday November 3rd

10am – 7pm Wednesday November 4th

10am – 6 pm Thursday November 5th

Furthermore, we are delighted to advise you that we are continuing our support with our chosen charity partner "LOVE, NILS", with our annual toy donation. We will have a collection area for the toys which will be sign-posted at Sentosa Fair About Town.

Important Note: Please read the LOVE, NILS Toy Donation 2020 guide for donating toys for children with suppressed immune systems, and please note that second hand toys are not allowed.

If participants would prefer to donate funds instead, you can follow this link to Donate to LOVE, NILS for the Holidays. If you would like to know what LOVE, NILS have been up to during COVID, please see LOVE, NILS Adapts Newsletter.

We hope this gives our members a chance to participate in our festive shopping with a difference and we hope in 2021 we will be back with our annual Christmas Charity Bazaar.

22nd - 31st October 2020

For a fun filled, Covid restricted, Trick Or Treatless Halloween, your St. Patrick's Society committe came up with some ways to keep our youngest members happy. We had a colouring competition as well as free printable games; Halloween Hunt, Pin the Tail on the Cat. We also reminisced about our favourite childhood Halloween games on our Facebook Page

Now more than ever, physical and mental health and wellness are a top priority. It’s hard to find your equilibrium when everything feels upside down.  But as proven time and time over mental health starts with physical wellness. Gyms were closed and our activities are so limited, it was easy to become inactive and not realize that you’re barely moving throughout the day. We found a way to move.

With this in mind the St. Patrick’s Society were delighted to partner with Stott certified Pilates instructor and supporter of St. Patrick’s Society, Dee Lyons, to offer our members a free Pilates session on zoom.

21st May 2020

When the annals look back to when it first started this was it. The inaugural Clash of the Celts started with a battle of wits on a zoom virtual quiz in partnership with St. Andrews Society and St. David's Society.

This event was such a hit there are plans to make Clash of the Celts a more frequent event. Keep a look out of the next installment Clash of the Celts 2: Masters of the Malt coming November 2020.
